Backfill historical data

Start your history with more than day one — an owner or admin can add past results by hand.

What you get

• Manually entered results for a run, filling in history from before you connected Price Checker.
• An append-only entry, so nothing you already have is overwritten.
• A time-limited window so backfill stays a startup tool, not a standing edit path.

Who can backfill

Only a workspace owner or admin can enter a manual backfill. If you don't see the option on a run, you don't have the role for it — see Invite your team & set roles.

Backfilling a run

1. Open the run you want to backfill from Reports & history.
2. If the platform-wide backfill window is open for that run, you'll see a backfill entry option on the run detail page.
3. Enter the results for the period the window covers.
4. Submit. The entry is appended to the run's history; it never replaces an existing observation.

Tips

• The backfill window is a fixed number of hours after a run completes, set platform-wide — once it closes, that run can no longer be backfilled.
• Entered values outside the normal range for that item are flagged for review rather than silently accepted.
• Every backfill entry is logged with who entered it and when, visible on the run detail page.
• Backfill only fills gaps for a run you already have; it doesn't create a new run or change what future runs will observe.
• If you don't see a backfill option on a run, either the window has closed or backfill is currently disabled platform-wide — either way, it isn't something you can turn back on yourself.

Why append-only matters

A backfill entry never overwrites an existing observation, even if the value you enter disagrees with what was recorded. That keeps your history honest: you can see both what the run originally captured and what you later confirmed by hand, instead of one silently replacing the other.
