Run a check & read a recommendation

Trigger a positioning check on demand and know exactly what a recommendation is telling you to do next.

What you get

  • A check across every competitor vendor and offering you've configured, on your own schedule or on demand.
  • Quality-checked results, not a raw scrape — every entitlement and price is cited.
  • A recommendation with the reasoning behind it, ready in the Action Center when the check finishes.

Triggering a check

From the Overview page, select Run now to check current prices and entitlements across every competitor vendor you've connected under Settings → Competitor vendors, for every offering in your plan catalog. Each check consumes research units, which count against your plan's cap — see Billing & credits basics for how that's measured. If you'd rather not trigger checks manually every time, a schedule can run them for you automatically.

What happens during a check

Behind the scenes, each offering/competitor-vendor pair is researched — pricing, docs, changelog, and comparison pages — and the results are quality-checked before they're finalized. This is why a check isn't instant — it's doing real comparison work, not just refreshing a cached price.

Reading the result

When a check completes, up to three things can appear:

  • Recommendations in the Action Center — a suggested action, with the reasoning behind it, for offerings where the positioning is worth reviewing.
  • Alerts on the Alerts page — a notice that something changed, tagged with a severity, including entitlement_change when a competitor repackages a plan.
  • Entitlement changes on a competitor's detail page — the chronological, cited timeline of what moved and when.

A check that finds nothing noteworthy is a normal, healthy outcome — it means your positioning is currently in line with what you've configured.
