Reset workspace data safely
Start clean without starting over — reset wipes your workspace's data while keeping the workspace itself exactly as you configured it.
What you get
- A clean-slate action for after you've explored with sample data, tested an import, or want a fresh baseline.
- A precise scope: your data resets, your configuration doesn't.
- A double-confirmation gate, because there's no undo.
What reset removes
Resetting clears your workspace's data — everything you've imported or MarginTide has produced: your catalog, your sources, run history, recommendations, alerts, saved policies, schedules, and any threshold overrides. It's also the way out of sample mode if you loaded the demo dataset to explore first.
What reset keeps
Your team and their roles, your plan and billing state, API tokens, connected integrations, notification preferences, and the audit trail all stay exactly as they were. Reset is about data, never about membership or configuration.
How to run it
- Open Settings → General and find Reset workspace data in the Danger zone.
- Confirm, then type the workspace name to confirm again — the second step exists because there's no undo.
- The workspace returns to empty; resetting an already-empty workspace is harmless.
Go further
- Sample data vs your data — reset is the exit from sample mode.
- Understand credits & automatic top-up — resetting data doesn't touch your usage or credits.
- Contact support — if something looks wrong after a reset.
